By the way, it’s a great way to lose weight!
My normal weight when reasonably fit is a steady 85 kg, but unfortunately, believe it or not, I do have a high cholesterol issue to deal with in ‘07 along with a high body fat content. Prior to the trip I tried hard to put on about 6-7 kg for ‘comfort’ whilst in Antarctica but only managed an extra 5 kg bringing me up to 90 kg.
I came back at 80.5 kg!
Whilst I was taking on board about 3500 calories per day, it simply would never be enough, particularly considering I spent 5 days on the mountain during which I had very little to eat.
No doubt this will correct itself over the forthcoming festive season!
